Having a successful drug rehab experience is something we strive to provide at Best Drug Rehabilitation. See some of our success stories and graduations below.
Drug and alcohol addiction rehabilitation center graduations are an iconic and totally necessary part of the rehabilitation process and the completion of any rehabilitation program. We emphasize them a lot here at Best Drug Rehabilitation, and we hold a graduation ceremony every single Friday right here at the treatment center for this reason. Every week, those who graduated the program that week get a chance to share their wins and successes with the rest of the clients and all of the staff too. Our graduation is a big deal indeed, and it is the one time every week where the entirety of the clients at the center and all of the staff and plenty of guests and family members can all be seen gathered in one place.
Graduation gives our clients a chance to thank those who made a big impact in their lives and on their paths to recovery. Sometimes they will present a song, a poem, a story, or a presentation of some kind. More often than not they will offer words of encouragement to those who are still struggling with fighting through their addictions and it will advise them on what they themselves need to do to beat their addiction habit themselves once and for all. It will really provide some stellar insight into what is needed from anyone who is struggling with addiction when it comes to beating the habit right there at Best Drug Rehabilitation.
Some people are also concerned about the professional and social impact of addiction treatment, and they will tend to be very private about their own addiction crisis as a result of that basic and inherent fear and worry. However, if there was ever a time to open up and share the wins and successes of life at BDR and perhaps some advice and tips to those still moving through the program and perhaps some thanks to those who helped the client get to where he or she is today then graduation would be the time and the place to do it. Many worry that if anyone finds out that they went to rehab, they’ll be looked at differently, judged or even face professional consequences of some kind. However, our graduations are very, very, very private affairs. They are not televised or recorded in any way, and only those clients who agree to it or request it will have their speeches video-taped for their families. Privacy can be very important, but so is standing up there at the podium and announcing your final sobriety for all of your peers, friends, and family members to witness and to see.
Why We Do Graduation
We offer graduation for a lot of different reasons, but there are three in particular that stand out the most:
- Everyone needs a chance to get closure on anything. An addition is really no different. When one is addicted to drugs or alcohol he or she needs to have the opportunity to lash out at it one last time and really give it the final boot by engaging in a graduation ceremony. There is truly no better way to do this than at graduation.
- Graduation is a way of saying thanks to those who helped the individual get to where she or she is today. This could be parents, family members, loved ones, friends, co-workers, and rehab staff too. A lot of clients ask us to tape their speech so they can post it to social media and share it with everyone who was recognized during the speech itself whether they were present for the graduation ceremony or not. It is important to grant recognition and to give credit where credit is due, and recovering addicts do find a lot of peace of mind and happiness in doing just this.
- Graduation is a powerful tool and way for struggling addicts to see that the end is in sight, that there is a way to beat addiction, that others have done it, and that they themselves can even do it too. This really does make clients feel better, and it gives those who are still working through the program the incentive and the zeal and the willingness to improve themselves and to get the strength and the resolve that they so often need to be successful and to really win the battle against addiction once and for all.
Graduation is an iconic, memorable, and constantly present aspect to any successful rehabilitation center. It does not so much signify the end of one’s battle so much as it signifies the beginning of a new lifestyle and a new adventure into a totally new realm of sanity and happiness and life after treatment. We are happy to offer this right here at Best Drug Rehabilitation, and we will continue to offer it too for year and years to come so that it can benefit future clients as well.
