Life After Rehab at Best Drug Rehabilitation

Financial Literacy

Treating the whole person is important for long-term recovery. In many cases, a basic lack of education about managing money, budgeting, credit lines and bank loans may have contributed to a client’s substance abuse. To address this, Best Drug Rehabilitation offers classes in financial literacy with topics ranging from the balancing of checkbooks to credit scores and mortgages.

Classes for financial literacy
Many addicts have tended towards financial instability because they believe that buying a home or a car is an unrealistic goal. Of course, the reality is that it's unrealistic because they have chosen a lifestyle that revolves around instant gratification. Best Drug Rehabilitation’s financial literacy courses teach recovering addicts that things such as cars and houses are the product of hard work and sound financial planning. The classes are designed to teach a client the importance of working hard to attain pleasurable rewards, as opposed to relying on the “quick fix” cycle of substance abuse.

Getting Your GED

The GED (also known as the high school equivalency test) is an exam for adults who want the equivalent of a high school diploma. It tests general academic skills and the core content covered in four years of high school. Nearly all employers are willing to offer the same wages and benefits to those who have a GED as they would offer to applicants who graduated from a high school.

Best Drug Rehabilitation offers a GED program in our drug rehab program, as we believe that it’s a huge part of addiction recovery. (Please note that material and testing are at an extra cost.)

Best Drug Rehabilitation has seen first hand that graduates of our GED program improved in their employment status, financial success and even in their psychological and physical health after passing the exam.
